Top 7 Brain Boosting Foods

Normally, here on the blog I highlight videos and interviews that I believe are reliable sources of information that offer valuable incite on key health issues.

But, watch this one…

WRONG!!!

This CNN video infuriated me to the core…

And, in the end, I decided it was probably just as important –if not MORE so– to highlight the DISinformation being spread out there.

So, are forgetfulness and “senior moments” just an unavoidable part of aging?

Many doctors and scientists (obviously like the ones in the video) say yes.

They’d have you believe it’s perfectly normal to start having memory lapses by the time you reach middle age.

I STRONGLY disagree.

And a growing body of research suggests these cognitive diseases are powerfully connected to your diet.

You are What You Eat…So’s Your Brain

Tentatively dubbed “Type 3 Diabetes” in 2005, Alzheimer’s has been shown to develop via similar pathways that cause type 2 diabetes.

According to some experts, such as Dr. Ron Rosedale, Alzheimer’s and other brain disorders may in large part be caused by the constant burning of glucose for fuel by your brain.

That’s right…too much sugar.

Contrary to popular belief, your brain does not require glucose, and actually functions better burning alternative fuels, especially ketones, which your body makes in response to digesting healthy fats.

Now, if you could protect your brain against degeneration, nourish your neurons and even boost the production of neurotransmitters just by eating more delicious whole foods…

Wouldn’t you do it?

I thought so.

So here’s a list of the Top 7 Best Brain Boosting Foods…

#7 – Celery

Celery is a rich source of luteolin. This is a potent plant compound that may calm the primary cause of neurodegeneration in the brain…inflammation. In animal testing, luteolin has also been attributed with lowering age-related memory loss.

#6 – Crab

Phenylalanine is an amino acid that plays an important role in the production in key neurotransmitters like dopamine, adrenaline, noradrenaline, and thyroid hormone. One serving of crab contains more than your entire daily requirement of phenylalanine.

#5 – Walnuts

DHA, in particular, is a type of omega-3 fat that’s been found to boost brain function and even promote brain healing. Walnuts are a rich plant-based source of these beneficial fatty-acids. *To note…while marine animal sources (Krill in particular) are more plentiful in Omega-3’s, they make a much better supplement recommendation than food.

#4 – Blueberries

The antioxidants and other phytochemicals in blueberries have been linked to improvements in learning, thinking and memory, along with reductions in neurodegenerative oxidative stress.

#3 – Eggs (whole/pastured)

Eggs are among the BEST food sources of choline. Choline is a B vitamin known for its role in brain development. Choline intake has been shown to potentially boost cognitive function, improve learning and memory, and even diminish age-related memory decline. Pastured eggs, in particular, are also known to contain 13 TIMES the amount of those critical Omega-3 fatty acids, in comparison to conventional eggs.

#2 – Curry

Curry contains turmeric, a spice that in turn contains the anti-inflammatory antioxidant curcumin. Research has shown that curcumin may help inhibit the accumulation of destructive beta amyloids in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients, as well as break up existing plaques. Curcumin has even been shown to boost memory and stimulate the production of new brain cells, known as neurogenesis.

#1 – Coconut Oil (Unrefined/Cold-Pressed)

Coconut oil contains about 66% MCTs. These MCTs (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) are a primary source of ketone bodies in the body. Ketones are what your body produces when it converts fat (as opposed to glucose) into energy. These ketones feed the brain and been shown in studies to prevent brain atrophy and even restore and renew neuron and nerve function in the brain…even AFTER damage has set in. These amazing qualities of coconut oil have led it to rank NUMBER 1 on my Top 7 Brain Boosting Foods.

So What Do We Know?

Above, we’ve gone through some of the most beneficial foods for your brain you can put into your body.

These foods have the ability to support and even enhance the function of the brain and possibly provide a fortified front against debilitating cognitive diseases, like Alzheimer’s.

But, as you’re about to learn, the fight doesn’t stop there.

Researchers at Yale have recently been able to pinpoint the most likely root cause of Alzheimer’s

And it’s a bacteria-like enzyme estimated to be present in more than 167 million people.

It’s believed to literally eat away at the brain, destroying memories and higher function as it progresses.

This new discovery has sent shockwaves across the entire medical community.

And now, researchers have discovered a simple way to exterminate this ‘brain eating enzyme’…

And even reverse the most hopeless cases of Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline.

Learn more about this monumental discovery on the next page…

Thank you for stating this so clearly and emphatically. I've been telling friends and clients for years that they CAN take charge of their health, including their brains, by taking charge of their daily lives and one of the most important, if not THE most important, is what they put into their bodies in the way of food and drinks every day. It always amazes me how uninformed and misled so many people are in this respect. We ARE just as young as we BELIEVE we are and as we tell our bodies we are by what we do, how we think, and what we eat and breathe every waking moment!
